How to Filter the Guide to Just the Games You Want

Last updated September 2026

A full day of Tier 1-3 sports is a lot of games. The filter icon narrows the Grid and List down to only what you actually care about, without changing what's in the guide underneath - clear the filters and everything's still there.

Three groups you can narrow by

  • Sport - football, basketball, hockey, soccer, and so on.
  • League - a specific league within a sport, like NFL vs. NCAA Football.
  • Channel - only the networks and streaming services a game is actually airing on.

Each group is its own collapsible section - tap the group name to expand or collapse it, so you're not scrolling past a long channel list to reach the sport filters below it. On a wide enough screen the filter panel stays open on the side the whole time; on a phone it opens as a sheet instead.

Three quick toggles

  • Live now - only games currently in progress.
  • My teams - only games involving a team, conference, or league you follow (see how follows work).
  • My services - only games airing on a channel or streaming service you've marked as one you actually have.

These stack with the sport/league/channel filters above, not instead of them - turn on "My teams" and narrow to "NFL" and you'll see only your followed teams' NFL games.

Saving a combination

Playhead keeps one saved filter view. Set up whatever combination you check most often, then save it - from then on you can apply it back in one tap instead of rebuilding it, or clear it entirely if your habits change. Setting up a new saved view replaces whatever was saved before; there's only ever the one slot.

What filters don't touch

Search is deliberately separate from all of this - it looks across the whole day's games regardless of any filter you have active, since it's a lookup tool ("find that one game"), not a browsing view.
